Rotary Club of Aylesbury Meeting Notes 11th May 2024
The meeting took place at The Holiday Inn Aylesbury and was a Charter Dinner to celebrate the centenary of the Rotary Club.
1 Present: Club Members Howard Cox (President), Judith Freeman, John Hardwick, Charo Cornter-May, Neil Freeman, Ralph Followell, Les Sheldon, Jim Neenah, Richard Ginger, Steve Alexander, Frank Falcon, Helen Falcon, Gill Beck, Hon members James and Elsie Frost, Lindsay Koch and Billy Masters.
Other Clubs District 1260 Governor Barbara Middleton, Assistant District Governor Jeremy Wyman, District Secretary Jane Mordue, President RC Aylesbury Hundreds Peter Linford, President RC Eckernfoerde Friedemann Green, Vice President RC Eckernfoerde Andreas Koch plus 8 Rotarians and guests; President RC Bourges Jacques Couer, Alain Costa plus 14 Rotarians and guests,
A total of 62 Rotarians and guests were present.

3 President’s Report: Howard thanked all those who had helped with the preparations for the Centenary and Twinning weekend which had been incredibly successful. There were 10 visitors from Eckernfoerde and 15 from Bourges. A welcome dinner at Ellesborough Golf Club on Thursday 9th May was followed by trips to the Trenchard Museum at RAF Halton and The National Paralympic Heritage Trust on Friday. Guests were entertained in Rotarians’ homes and local hostelries and visits to local points of interest.
4 Speeches were given by James Frost, Honorary Member and Club Patron and Ralph Followell who gave a brief history of the Club. Alain Costa gave a vote of thanks on behalf of Bourges and Friedemann Green on behalf of Eckernfoerde and also invited both Bourges and Aylesbury Clubs to visit Germany in May 2025,
5 Paul Harris Fellowship: On behalf of The RC Eckernfoerde, Andreas Koch awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship to Howard Cox in recognition of the many years of service he has given to promoting International fellowship. Howard acknowledged this great honour and accepted on behalf of the whole Club.
